In the pristine waters of Calbuco and Chiloe Island (South of Chile), the rope mussel farms are monitored under stringent quality control procedures (SERNAPESCA).
With a capacity to harvest and process 30 ton of mussels per day, our processing facilities guarantee that, from harvest to packaging, mussels and meat content is of a high standard and freshness. Once harvested from the sea, they are immediately delivered to our processing plant where they are washed, cleaned and debyssed. Then the mussels are graded to ensure that only mussels of high quality and similar size are available for processing for each customer.
Our workers take care by visual inspections to ensure only mussels of good quality are available for packing and cooking, taking apart the broken shells, and foreign bodies. Quality control is fundamental to our success, external microbiological and chemical laboratories and cooperative links with Chilean universities, national reference laboratories and research agencies worldwide (surveyors).
